About Us     

                          We have been undertaking the procurement and distribution of chemical fertilizers since ,1972-73 in Himachal Pradesh through two-tier fertilizer distribution system comprising of Himfed as wholesaler and primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies, private depot holders and some corporations as retailers.

       We are distributing following kinds of fertilizer through our network of wholesale depots.

REVISED SUBSIDIZED RETAIL SALE PRICES OF FERTILIZERS FOR THE YEAR 2010-11

All kinds of fertilizers are being sold through each retail outlet on fixed uniform retail sales rate and the State Government is providing cost subsidy on some fertilizers which is passed on to the farmers through Himfed as per detail given below:-

Besides this the State Government is providing 100% transportation subsidy on all fertilizers except UREA 46% from Himfed godown to the retail outlets.

Organic Manure: In addition to the chemical fertilizers, we are also marketing Organic Manure, Bio Fertilizers and Vermi Compost..

Market Intervention Scheme : Since 1996-1997, HIMFED is implementing Market Intervention Scheme in respect of fruits like Apple, Mango and Citrus for rendering market support to farmers as and when decided by the state and the Government of India.

Packing Material : We arrange supply of packing material for fruits such as Carton, Trays, Plastic Crates, Baskets etc. from private manufacturers at reasonable rates to the growers at their doorsteps.

SERVO ALL SEASON TREE SPRAY OIL: We have the agencies of Indian Oil Corporation for the sale of their products Tree Spray Oil, MS, HSD and other POL items through our retail outlets in the state. Himfed is also running a petrol pump and service station in Shimla and also has petrol pumps at Sarahan in District Sirmour and Chowari in Chamba District .

TMT-BARS & GC/ GP Sheets : Himfed has obtained State consignment agency of Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) at Shimla, Parwanoo and Mandi and also has the retail dealership of SAIL for sale of TMT-Bars & GC/ GP Sheets in most of the districts of Himachal Pradesh through its retail outlets.

Import of FELCO Pruning Secateurs / Shears : We are the dealers of M/S FELCO Switzerland for the sale of their product FELCO 5, FELCO 7, FELCO 600 and spares etc.

Other Items/Activities: We also have the dealership of CCI/ ACC/ Jay Pee Cement, Godrej Furniture, Conference Systems, Typewriters  etc. We also supply consumer and durable items to Govt. Departments and Institutions.

We are the service franchisee of Iffco Tokio General Insurance Company Ltd. for General  Insurance Business in Himachal Pradesh.

We have constructed a Bottling Plant at Parwanoo in Solan District, the Plant is currently under lease with HPGIC since May 2006.

We also market PDS and Non PDS Items such as Tea, Salt and other consumer items etc. through our 12 Retail outlets at Shimla Town.

Himfed has been appointed as the Nodal agency for construction of FCI Godowns on B.O.T Basis for storage of food grains.
